Hello supporters of Keep Squash in Willoughby. It has been a while since our last update, and just over one month since Willoughby Squash closed its doors. The photo above is of Willoughby Council Mayor Tanya Taylor speaking at our rally to Keep Squash in Willoughby on Anzac Day, just prior to the last event held at the centre.
Since then, a lot has been taking place. Most importantly, the Keep Squash in Willoughby committee has been working hard to establish the Willoughby Squash and Racquets Club, a non-profit sporting club. We will have it fully established in the next week or so and at that point we will be in touch to explain how you can become a member.
We hope membership will be appealing to everyone who has signed the petition. To be a virtual member will cost as little as $5.00 and it will come with several benefits that we will detail in our next post. Most importantly, it will allow you to show your support for our campaign. And it will allow us to continue our important work with Willoughby Council finding a location for temporary squash courts - and ultimately a permanent racquets centre.
Thank you for your ongoing support, and stay tuned!
