Hello,

Last year you signed our change.org petition to keep Saint Brendan Church open. We truly appreciate your help, as the number of signatures we received was very likely an important part of our Plan finally being accepted by the Archdiocese – so THANK YOU !!  We consider you to be a Friend of Saint Brendan.

We are very grateful for your signature last year and want to share our successes with you and welcome you to become more involved either by volunteering, attending Mass at St. Brendan Church, or by considering a donation to Friends of Saint Brendan.

As we near the end of our first year long effort, we are meeting our goals for offertory, fundraising, and attendance (although Summer is when attendance numbers tend to falter a bit – so a visit to St. Brendan these next few weekends would be very helpful ;)

►A group from Friends of Saint Brendan met with Our General Vicar Bishop Mark O’Connell in March and he was very impressed (seemingly happily surprised) by all of the work our Church Community has accomplished in increasing attendance and fundraising.  While he made clear that no new decisions would be made until the next Archbishop is named, he also told us that he had no desire to close any churches in the Archdiocese.  He wants us to continue pushing on and meeting goals.  And he reiterated the fact that Saint Brendan School will remain open no matter what. Our meeting was overall positive and Bishop Mark was very receptive and offered his assistance.

* We are very much looking forward to the next phase in our journey which will finally involve more of a focus on specific much needed repairs to the Church !! *

*Please visit our website FriendsofSaintBrendan.org and subscribe to the blog/newsletter to stay connected and be informed of news, updates, upcoming events and visiting priests and lecturers. (A neighborhood outdoor Mass is scheduled for the end of the Summer and we have already begun planning next Spring's 90th Anniversary Gala)

Consider our ongoing Special Donor Opportunities:

The Friends of Saint Brendan Wall – Name of supporter living or deceased, couple, business, or St B class year inscribed in Gold Paint by local artist John Parsons on the Marbleized Wall surrounding the Altar in Saint Brendan Church.  (You are welcome to view the Wall up close after Masses as it is truly beautiful in person- from a distance the names become part of the rich marbleized design).   A special way to show support, remember a loved one, or celebrate a married couple.

Friends of Saint Brendan Window Plaques – custom engraved brass plaque under one of two rededicated windows at Saint Brendan. (this allows for more room to customize a sentiment with 5 lines of text 25 characters per line)

**do not get tricked into donating to anything associated with change.org as those funds only go to promoting the previous petition (DO NOT CLICK "TAKE THE NEXT STEP" below). If you would like to donate to Saint Brendan Church, via our nonprofit Friends of Saint Brendan, head to the links provided above or to https://friendsofsaintbrendan.org/donate/ for ways to donate online or by mail.

THANK YOU !

(Friends of Saint Brendan is a nonprofit 501c3 charitable organization, not affiliated with the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston, and all funds raised will go toward Saint Brendan Church for operating costs and repairs. If the Archdiocese should decide to close our church, the money will be directed to St. Brendan School)
