Renaissance Academy at Fischer in San Jose, CA, isn’t just a school—it’s a hub for our community. It’s a place where students, staff, and families come together to support each other and make sure every student has a chance to learn through social justice, the arts, and science. Over the years, Renaissance has developed a unique model with cohort-based learning, student-led conferences, and restorative justice practices that have made it a special place for all of us.

Now, this community is at risk. The Alum Rock School Board is considering closing Renaissance at Fischer, a decision that would disrupt students’ education and weaken the strong sense of community we’ve worked so hard to build.
