Professor Alexander Coward is unfairly being removed from the University of California Berkeley.  

He is an excellent teacher, well loved by his students and is frequently rated as one of the most effective educators at Berkeley.  

Professor Coward should not be removed from his post as lecturer, people who break the mold, who innovate upon inefficiency, who produce results should be celebrated at UC Berkeley.  

The University of California Berkeley, as a public institution of higher education, should prioritize the interest of students.  

And it is in the best interest of its students, that the best educators be recognized for their accomplishments instead of being punished. 

Chancellor Nicholas Dirks, Academic Senate Chairman Professor Benjamin Hermalin, and Academic Senate Vice Chairman Professor Robert Powell please do not deprive current and future students of one of the best educators this university has ever seen.
