Update: Kindred Has Confirmed the Closure – But Our Fight Isn't Over

We are heartbroken to share that Kindred has now formally confirmed that Big Top Buckingham Park Pre-School will permanently close and will not reopen in September 2026.

This is devastating news for our children, families, staff and the wider Buckingham Park community.

Despite the overwhelming support shown throughout this campaign, Kindred has decided to proceed with the closure. We are incredibly disappointed, not only by the decision itself but also by the timing. Families have been left with only a few short weeks to find alternative childcare, during the summer holidays, when many local settings are already full or simply unsuitable.

However, our campaign is not over.
Our focus is now on doing everything we can to ensure that this valued community pre-school does not disappear forever.

We are calling on Buckinghamshire Council, local councillors and all those involved to help explore every possible option for another provider to take over the site, so that early years provision can continue on Buckingham Park.

Big Top has been at the heart of our community for many years. It has given hundreds of children the very best start in life, and we believe Buckingham Park deserves to keep a pre-school at the heart of its community.
