Keep Pocoyo for Toddlers: A Plea to Animaj and Guillermo García Carsí

The Issue

Pocoyo Season 1

I’ve loved Pocoyo for as long as I can remember. This little blue friend wasn’t just a cartoon—it was a safe space, a comforting world full of innocence, simplicity, and joy. Pocoyo’s baby-like charm and playful nature made the show truly magical, and it became something I felt deeply connected to.

But when I watched Season 5, Episode 27, everything changed. Pocoyo suddenly seemed more grown-up, speaking like an older child and losing that special toddler-like wonder. Honestly, it broke my heart. The pure, baby-like magic that made Pocoyo so unique felt lost.

The decision to “age up” the show for preschoolers—adding more complex storylines and having Pocoyo speak—feels like a betrayal of its original purpose and audience. There are already countless shows for preschoolers, but there are very few like the original Pocoyo that truly embraced the toddler and baby demographic. That’s what made it special, and why so many of us fell in love with it.

Pocoyo has always stood for innocence, simplicity, and joy. Let’s bring that magic back. Sign this petition to show the creators that the original Pocoyo still matters—that his baby charm is what made him iconic.
