Keep Park Lane Open

Keep Park Lane Open
The Issue
Despite the unanimous opposition from all 38 businesses and 100% of the property owners on Park Lane, the city is inexplicably considering the closure of Park Lane without presenting a clear or compelling plan. To our surprise, there have been misleading statements implying support from businesses and property owners for this "plan," leaving us questioning the source of this misinformation.
The proposed closure of Park Lane not only results in the loss of valuable parking spaces but also eliminates through traffic. This would present significant challenges and potential revenue losses for restaurants that heavily rely on food delivery services and convenient customer pickup. Additionally, the closure would impose logistical hurdles and hinder alley access for deliveries, placing an additional burden on businesses. We must not overlook the concerns regarding accessibility for elderly and ADA customers if the street is closed.
By signing the petition, you send a message to the Kirkland City Council, declaring your support for the businesses and property owners who possess an intimate understanding of their own establishments. They have invested substantial resources into Park Lane and have the most to lose should the city proceed with its ill-advised decision.
Together, let us stand united and make it clear to the Kirkland City Council that we prioritize the voices and interests of the businesses and property owners who comprehend the intricacies of Park Lane's unique ecosystem.
