Carolina Park is a quiet, family neighborhood in North Mount Pleasant, SC. We are currently undergoing a change in HOA leadership and are petitioning the board to pause all changes going forward, as well as revert a recent decision to ban personal basketball hoops. This decision was made behind closed doors after a very small minority of residents complained. This should be a neighborhood-wide decision and, further, one made by a resident-led board.

Pediatricians, teachers, and scientists the world over tout the benefits of exercise, community and outdoor play for children of all ages. The effective ban on personal basketball hoops, and refusal to consider adding them in a community space, is not fair to our neighborhood's children and not supportive of healthy development.

We demand that the HOA allow basketball hoops to remain safely near driveways and backyards, not blocking the flow of traffic and within the footprint of the property.

Sign this petition to let our kids keep playing basketball with their neighbors, and to tell the developer-led HOA to stop further decision making until the resident board is in place.
