In the recent days, it has come to light that Movati gym playrooms will potentially be closing in order to use the space to create Pilates studios. Please show your support in demonstrating that families are an important part of the Movati clientele and that families truly benefit from this service.  

Movati gym playrooms are a sanctuary for many families needing childcare in order to be able to access the gym to care for their physical & mental health. Families all over Ottawa rely on playroom services as their only option/opportunity to be able to access a gym facility. Movati is not just a gym. It’s an all access facility to health and wellness classes like yoga, swimming, aerobics, fitness, etc… these services help parents/caretakers prioritize their health. 

Postpartum is an extremely vulnerable time for families (moms in particular) as they spend most of their time and energy nurturing and caring for their family. Taking away an amazing resource that helps favour postpartum wellness is extremely saddening.

We are better parents/caretakers when we choose to take care of ourselves!

furthermore, these closures will result in loss of employment of many incredible childcare workers (most university students who rely on this income to support themselves through their studies).

I encourage you to sign this petition as a sign to Movati that these services are IMPORTANT and valuable to the Ottawa community.
