The City of Virginia Beach is in the early stages of conversations regarding data centers and zoning. In the event that any proposals to introduce new data centers to the area are announced (which may or may not be the case), the citizens of Virginia Beach and the surrounding areas want to preemptively make clear their opposition to building new data centers in the area due to likely negative community and environmental impacts. This is a proactive measure proceeding any concrete local government action or announcements. We believe it is important to act not just as reactionaries, but to advocate now in the event that these sentiments become politically relevant in the future.
