Keep Mrs. Gadsden at Lansdowne Elementary IB World School

Keep Mrs. Gadsden at Lansdowne Elementary IB World School
The Issue
Petition to Retain Our Assistant Principal
We, the undersigned parents, students, staff, and community members of Lansdowne Elementary respectfully petition the CMS Superintendent and CMS Board of Education to reconsider the decision to reassign Assistant Principal Miesha Gadsden.
Assistant Principal Gadsden has been a pillar of support, leadership, and compassion at Lansdowne. Her dedication to student achievement, school culture, and community engagement has had a transformative impact on our school. She goes above and beyond to ensure every student and staff member feels seen, supported, and valued.
Beyond her professional contributions, Assistant Principal Gadsden is deeply embedded in our school community — not just as an educator, but as a parent. Her own children attend Lansdowne Elementary and this involuntary reassignment would cause a significant hardship on her family and disrupt the very community she has helped strengthen.
Additionally, it is important to note that our current principal has only been in her leadership role at the elementary level for one year. As a new principal, she continues to benefit from the steady guidance, deep institutional knowledge, and experienced leadership that Mrs. Gadsden provides on a daily basis. Removing such a critical source of support at this stage could negatively impact the stability and progress our school has been building under this new leadership.
We understand that staffing decisions are complex, but we ask that exceptions be made when an individual’s continued presence so clearly benefits the students and the broader school environment.
We urge district leadership to reconsider this decision in light of the irreplaceable value Assistant Principal Gadsden brings to our school every day.
Please support our effort to keep her at Lansdowne by signing this petition and sharing it with others who care about the wellbeing and future of our school.
Sincerely,
The Concerned Community of Lansdowne
