Petition updateKeep Mesa County Public Lands in Public HandsMesa County: The fight for our public lands isn't over

Even though the Senate parliamentarian recently blocked the public land sale from moving forward in the megabill, this fight is far from over. Lawmakers are already working to reintroduce the proposal — and if we stay silent, it could come back even worse.

That’s why we’re still pushing forward here at home.

📣 Mesa County residents are calling on our Board of Commissioners to:

✅ Take a formal, public stand against the sale or transfer of our public lands
✅ Affirm that public land must remain in public hands — open, accessible, and protected
✅ Advocate for local voices in every federal land decision that affects our valley

We’ve already gathered nearly 400 signatures in just a few days — that’s amazing. But to force this issue onto the commissioners’ agenda, we need to keep building momentum.

Here’s how you can help right now:

🔁 Share the petition to your Facebook or Instagram
📣 Post it in local Facebook groups (especially in Mesa County)
👥 Talk to your neighbors — a quick text or conversation goes a long way

This is our chance to make sure Mesa County stands up for our land, our economy, and our way of life. Thank you for being part of this — and let’s keep it going.
