Thanks to public pressure and widespread pushback, the Senate parliamentarian has blocked the proposed public land sale mandate from advancing in the budget reconciliation bill. That’s a big deal — and a direct result of people like you speaking up.

This provision should never have been included in a budget bill in the first place. It was an attempt to quietly force the sale of millions of acres of public land with no meaningful public input. But we showed up, we paid attention, and we pushed back — and it worked.

Now we need to keep that momentum going right here in Mesa County.

📍 Tonight, our neighbors in Eagle County are setting the example — their Board of Commissioners is holding a public meeting and voting on a resolution that opposes the sale, transfer, or disposal of public lands. They’re even inviting community members to speak directly.

✅ This is exactly what we’re asking our own commissioners to do.

We want Mesa County to:

  • Pass a resolution opposing the sale or transfer of public lands
  • Publicly affirm that public land should remain in public hands
  • Advocate for local voices in every federal land decision that affects our county

This is a winnable fight — but only if we keep going.
