Dear Supporters: I have some more exciting news to share about our Change.org petition seeking to keep McDonald's 540 Meals documentary out of schools. First, thanks to your incredible support, over 40,000 people signed the petition in just the last four days, for a current total signature count of over 58,000! Second, I’m so excited to report that a segment about 540 Meals and our petition is going to air on the TODAY show tomorrow (Tuesday). It's scheduled to air around 7:30am EST, but I'll share updates on Twitter (@thelunchtray) and on The Lunch Tray’s Facebook page (Facebook.com/thelunchtray) if that’s likely to change. In light of this forthcoming TODAY show story and last week’s front page Washington Post article, it’s clear that the national press is starting to pay attention to our concerns. It’s my sincere hope that McDonald’s president and CEO Steve Easterbrook is also now paying attention, and that he’ll realize it’s time to change course on this misguided in-school marketing effort. -Bettina
