On September 25th, 2025 the Washington State Supreme Court ruled that Mark Wallace's killer, John H. Schoenhals, is eligible for resentencing. You can read the full opinion here.  The following information describes how to make your voice heard to the resentencing Judge. The hearing date has not yet been set.

• "The community is welcome to send letters that they would like for the Judge to consider at the resentencing to me. I then gather them and file them at the same time. The courts prefer to receive community input seven (7) days prior to the hearing itself. This allows for time to review and consider them. The following is the best way to assure they will reach the court, and for me to keep track of them.

• To submit a statement that you would like the Judge to consider please follow these instructions. Important: Anything that is submitted will be filed in the public court system and is available to the public. The defendant will be provided a copy of all statements prior to the hearing.
• Email Victim Advocate your statement directly at wendy.ross@kingcounty.gov

Please put defendant Schoenhals’ name in the subject line of the email. Advocate will remove any street addresses, phone numbers, or email addresses once they are received for privacy reasons

Advocate must receive the email 7 days prior to the hearing date"
