We the undersigned, call on Tesco to contine to support Stourbridge by allowing longer-stay parking for community events and local groups.

The multi-storey car park,which  served the former Crown Centre, was demolished in order to make room for Tesco Extra Stourbridge.  Since then, local people have relied on the Tesco Car Park for their shopping in the store but also for safe local parking when visiting the town hall or leisure centre. These events are often run by local people and are essential to the prosperity of a town like ours.  From comedy nights and baby ballet to Harry Hill and welsh Ballet the town hall needs local support and locals are asking Tesco to be part of this support.

Tesco says that “Community is key to our purpose. Working together with our partners, colleagues and customers, we support whenever it is needed and, importantly, provide extra help to more community groups than ever.

We are asking Tesco to support the community by reinstating extra parking times for local events.
