HI Everyone,

I just wanted to give you an update on what's happening with Project Flourish (Sainsbury's development, Kensal Canalside)

Ballymore submitted their planning application to RBKC last year. (Nov 2023)

It was rejected by the GLA (1st round review) in Jan 2024 and failed to 'tick' all the boxes of the New Local Plan. (Inspector's Report published July 2024)

We understand that the RBKC Planning Committee will make a decision about Ballymore's revised plans in Nov/Dec 2024 -  or even Jan. 2025

We haven't seen the revised plans and I've even heard from one source that Ballymore aren't even bothering to update their original submission!

Such is the curious 'Alice in Wonderland' world of Project Flourish.

WHAT HAPPENS NOW?

Ballymore are one year behind schedule, thanks in no small part to our campaigning efforts over the last 18 months.

This is the final PUSH!

Our key concerns remain the same:-

  • Traffic
  • Air pollution
  • Affordable Housing (or lack of it)
  • High Rise/density and massing
  • Inadequate infrastructure
  • Impact on Heritage sites
  • Contamination from Toxic Gasworks site

HOW CAN I HELP?

We have 5000 signatures on this petition

If we can covert these into 5000 objections , RBKC (and Ballymore) will be forced to listen to Residents concerns - and we could WIN!

If you would like to support the campaign please OBJECT online on the RBKC Planning Portal.

Email objections are not counted - it has to be via the RBKC planning portal.

HOW DO I OBJECT?

KEEP KENSAL GREEN CAMPAIGN

Over the next 6 weeks I will be posting regular updates with photos and videos.

A lot of work has been going on behind the scenes, contacting MP's and local Councillors, Environmental lawyers , collaborating with Gasworks Communities United (GCU) - too much for this first update, but I'll bring everyone up to speed with our progress week by week.

We'll be campaigning outside Sainsburys (car park entrance) every weekend through Nov/Dec. so if you want to come and help- that would be fantastic!

Thank you for your continuing support.
