Keep Karura Forest Thigiri Gate (Sigiria Block) Open
The Issue
Two groups of unnamed persons are demanding that the Thigiri access to Karura Forest (Sigiria Block, Gate-F) at the ends of Thigiri Close and Thigiri Lane be closed permanently on the grounds that they are inconvenienced by the traffic on the two public roads.
Karura Forest Reserve is the most visited public green space in Nairobi County. Over 150,000 people have used Thigiri Gate-F to enter the forest in the last year.
Closure of the Thigiri (Gate-F) entry and exit facilities would in effect deny citizens of Kenya and the public at large access to a green public space that plays a vital role in community wellbeing and enjoyment.
Please sign the petition if you agree that the public should continue to have access to Karura Forest Sigiria Block via Thigiri Gate-F.
