Hello everyone, and thank-you all so much for the outpouring of support we've seen!
The success of this petition has reignited a lot of hope in keeping our program alive. You have all already given us so much, but now we have the option to show support in person, and I hope some of you can show out. The more numbers we have, the more pressure on the School Board to acknowledge us and our cause. As of today, February 8th, the School Board has yet to respond to us.

As a recap, the Lower Merion School District plans to remove Japanese Language from their offered courses. This is bad for a multitude of reasons, but now we are able to have our voices heard by the District and try and influence them about this choice. If you are able, and especially if you are a part of our LMSD community, please email the School Board at communitycomments@lmsd.org. The petition is huge, but words will have an even greater influence.

Secondly, if you are free this Monday, February 12th, the School Board will be hosting a Curriculum Committee Meeting over Zoom from 7-9 PM EST. The zoom link is https://www.lmsd.org/zoom-live Each person attending will be allotted 3 minutes to speak directly to the Board in favor of the Japanese Course's continuation. With enough people, we will be able to get our arguments across.

Please take advantage of this chance to be vocal for what you believe, and to save our program! Every signature and email helps so, so much. We are not letting Japanese go without a fight.

Thank-you all for the continued support,
Wes Mazzoni
