Keep James Dobson Elementary our community gem!

Keep James Dobson Elementary our community gem!
The Issue
A meeting has been requested between the James Dobson School community and Assistant Superintendent for Special Education Learning Network 6, Sonia Berry, along with Karen Kolsky, Charles Connor, Amy Holdsworth and Kim Caputo to come to a conclusion regarding the School District Administrations plan to increase the already inequitable 21% Special Education population at James Dobson.
Below are statics found on the School District site for schools in our area: CookWiss 12% Special ed ; Enrollment 442
Shawmont 15% Special ed ; Enrollment 525
Mifflin 11.3% Special ed ; Enrollment 292
Henry 12.5% Special ed ; Enrollment 504
Roosevelt 16% Special ed ; Enrollment 572
Jenks 14% Special ed ; Enrollment 450
James Dobson 21% Special ed ; Enrollment 301
The highest rated schools in the District don’t even come close.
Penn Alexander 4% Special ed ; Enrollment 557
Greenfield 9% Special ed ; Enrollment 609
Meredith 5% Special ed ; Enrollment 587
It’s clear to see that James Dobson is inequitably absorbing twice what most other schools in our area do and 4 times as much as many High Performing schools! This is a question of fairness and equity across the Philadelphia School District! Please join us to speak out against inequity!
Meeting: Tuesday, May 3rd at 6:30pm in Dobson's Auditorium
