Real Food: Save our Fillmore Street Store

The Issue

A message from CEO and Second Generation Co-Owner Stephanie Hong

Dear Community:

The Real Food team has been honored to serve San Francisco for the past 47 years as a family-owned small business.  We are an organic, locally-sourced grocery store that has been a community institution in the neighborhood since we opened our second location at 3060 Fillmore in 1997.  We employ nearly 34 people at this location, 80% of whom are San Francisco residents like you and me.

But if we don’t act quickly, this might change.

After owning the building for decades, our current landlords have decided to sell the property at 3060 Fillmore Street.  While the parcel is still zoned for a grocery store, there is no guarantee that we will be able to continue to operate as tenants.

We as a community need to show that Real Food is the right choice for our neighborhood, and we need your help.  We are gathering signatures from members of the community who feel, as we do, that it would be a shame to lose a longtime community treasure that has brought so much joy to our neighborhood.

Will you sign our petition?

Join our coalition of neighborhood leaders, small businesses, and residents who support keeping Real Food right where it is today.

On behalf of my family and the entire team here at Real Food, I thank you for your loyalty that has allowed our company to stay in business for nearly five decades; here’s to five more!
