Hello Everyone
The Keep Whangaparāoa’s Green Spaces (KWGS) legal advisor has reported the following to the Executive:
“On 24 April 2024 an application was made to the High Court in Auckland to Liquidate Long River Development Corporation Ltd which is the Greg Olliver company that owns the Gulf Harbour golf course land.
The application was by an unpaid creditor of Long River.
The Barrister representing Long River had only been appointed the evening before the hearing which is likely to be a delaying tactic as he requested an adjournment to be fully briefed on the matter.
The creditor’s barrister objected to an adjournment but the Court granted one and the application will now be heard on 16 May 2024.
It is interesting to note that the Long River barrister advised the Court that the outstanding debt on the golf course land now stands at $48 million.”
We will have an observer at the 16 May hearing and will keep you informed as this matter progresses through the High Court.
Thank you
