Greasby Library is more than just a building; it is the heartbeat of our community and a testament to the resilience and dedication of the residents, volunteers, and Councillors of Greasby, Frankby, and Irby. Statistics reveal that Greasby Library is utilized more than several of the major libraries, such as Heswall, Upton, and Moreton. In a place where community spirit thrives, the library stands as the sole public building in our ward, offering invaluable services and access to knowledge.

While Wirral Council explores reshaping library services to ensure they are comprehensive, modern, and accessible, excluding Greasby from the 'core eight-site model' list is a disservice to our community. We urge Wirral Council to recognize Greasby Library as one of the borough's most essential and bustling community assets.

The proposed consultation fundamentally overlooks the importance of Greasby Library to its residents. By incorporating it into the core eight-site model, the council can demonstrate its commitment to fostering vibrant community hubs across the borough.

Additionally, we suggest transforming Greasby Library into a "one-stop-shop" location to significantly enhance the community's access to various council services, aligning with the council’s vision for modern, accessible community facilities.
Our community's hard work and dedication deserve recognition and support. The future of Greasby Library should be secured as a vital community asset. Stand with us in urging Wirral Council to prioritize and invest in our library.

Please join Cllr Mark Skillicorn and Cllr Grahame McManus and sign the petition to keep Greasby Library thriving for generations to come.
