The Issue

Golden Harvest in Rochester, NY, is more than just a coffee shop; it's a cornerstone of our community. As a student and athlete attending RIT, the thought of our community without Golden Harvest is unimaginable. It's a place where community members gather over a steaming cup of coffee or indulge in one of their delectable doughnuts, sharing stories, laughter, and support. The environment they have created is one that fosters peace and positivity – a rare find in today's fast-paced world. Not to mention, they are very supportive of the deaf community at RIT, where sign language is commonly used within the establishment between the workers and customers.

Golden Harvest has served West Henrietta not just with their exceptional culinary delights, but with a warmth that resonates with everyone who walks through their doors. Its atmosphere is tranquil and welcoming, making it a favorite haunt for students, families, and other residents. The loss of such a beloved institution would leave a void that is difficult to fill, affecting not only its employees but also the larger community who depend on it for solace and comfort.

Economically, Golden Harvest plays a significant role in the local market. Independent businesses like Golden Harvest are vital to a thriving economy, providing jobs and supporting the unique character of our community. Closing this establishment would not only lead to a loss of employment for its dedicated staff but also deprive the area of an important local enterprise that contributes to our community’s distinct identity.

We understand that businesses face challenges, especially in these trying times. Therefore, we urge local authorities, community leaders, and the people of Rochester to come together to find feasible solutions to keep Golden Harvest open. Whether it’s through community fundraising initiatives, government grants, or local support drives, we are confident that working hand in hand, we can ensure Golden Harvest remains a part of our lives for years to come.

Please sign this petition to express your support for keeping Golden Harvest open. Let’s show our united appreciation for a place that has given so much to our community and stand together to preserve it for the future. Your signature is a step towards sustaining the heart of our community. Sign now to help keep Golden Harvest alive!
