The skate park is the only place in town for preteen and teen kids, as well as adults to hang out without getting into trouble. It keeps the kids off the streets; it promotes respect, kindness and fitness, in a safe and healthy environment. While at times it may seem hectic and crowded, the kids are kind to each other; there is a mutual thoughtfulness between the bikers, skate boarders, and scooter riders. It is also a learning environment. These kids are learning respect, humanity, social skills and compassion, these kids are helping each other as well as teaching one and other new tricks and stunts. The kids that use it are staying out of trouble, and staying fit. If people would just stop judging these kids for a minute and watched how the boys interact with each other, they would see the respect these boys have and show to one another.

In addition, the plaza next to the park would lose a lot of business due to the absence of the kids who use the skate park. These kids frequent the restaurants daily, sometimes two and three times a day.

Please help us save the Skate Park by signing this petition, lets work together to have the town insure the Skate Park for skateboards, scooters, and bikes. Where will these kids go? What will these kids do instead? Lets keep them safe and healthy by keeping to Skate Park open to everyone.
