Keep Floreal Nieuwpoort swimming pool open
The Issue
The swimming pool at Hotel Floreal Nieuwpoort has been an important part of our holidays for many years. We have been staying at Floreal Nieuwpoort since my godchild was very young, and the swimming pool has always been one of the highlights of our stay.
We deliberately chose Floreal Nieuwpoort because my godchild loves swimming. The pool also gives us the reassurance that there is always something enjoyable to do during our stay, even when the weather is poor. For us, the swimming pool is therefore not just an extra hotel facility, but one of the main reasons we choose Floreal Nieuwpoort and continue to return.
The swimming pool is now at risk of closing permanently on January 8, 2027. This would be a great loss not only for us, but also for the many other hotel guests and families who use the pool during their stay and have created lasting memories there. Without the pool, Floreal Nieuwpoort would lose an essential part of what makes staying there so enjoyable for us. If the pool closes, we will unfortunately have to look for another holiday destination.
A hotel swimming pool such as the one at Floreal Nieuwpoort offers much more than just recreation. It gives families and children the opportunity to spend time together, stay active and enjoy swimming regardless of the weather. For children, it is also a place where they can practise their swimming skills and build confidence in the water.
The swimming pool is therefore an important part of the overall experience at Floreal Nieuwpoort. It makes the hotel especially attractive to families, grandparents travelling with their grandchildren, and other guests who enjoy staying active during their holiday. Closing the pool would not simply mean losing a facility; it would take away an important part of the holiday experience for many loyal guests.
We therefore ask the management of Floreal Nieuwpoort and all other parties involved to explore every possible alternative before proceeding with a permanent closure. Possible solutions could include partnerships, subsidies, sponsorships, adjusted opening hours, or other measures that could help keep the swimming pool open.
Please help us ensure that current and future guests of Floreal Nieuwpoort can continue to enjoy the swimming pool.
