It has been a tradition for many of us to watch our older siblings graduate, to celebrate at dances, and to look forward to our own turn at the iconic events that EOYG hosts right here in Lancaster.

Now, with the decision to move EOYG to Florida, we face the loss of this beloved tradition and the irreplaceable memories and connections it fosters. Many families, like my own, have deep roots in Lancaster, and the relocation places a significant burden on them. For instance, my dear friend Kailey Smith will be one of many unable to attend these important events due to the distance. Lancaster and its complementary communities have always been conveniently located for participants, thus Florida's distance poses not only logistical complications but threatens to alienate many loyal participants.

Maintaining EOYG in Lancaster is not just about preserving tradition; it's a practical choice for the majority. Lancaster provides a central location accessible to numerous families who have contributed to the program's success and cultural richness. Let’s not forget the excellent local venues, supportive community spirit, and historical ties that Lancaster offers and Florida simply cannot replace.
