Keep Ellis Library Open at Night

Keep Ellis Library Open at Night
The Issue
As students of the University of Missouri, we pay with our tuition to keep Ellis Library open overnight. As all of you know, despite the rising tuition and fees that we all have to pay: we still face the possibility of Ellis Library closing its doors at night.
For many of us, particularly during midterms and finals week: having access to the library at night is critical for everyone's academic success.
It's a safe place to study for low-income and non-traditional students who depend on after-hours access. It's the very center of the University where everyone goes to find a quiet place to work.
Shutting down the library at night jeopardizes our academic progress and undermines the University’s commitment to inclusivity. It disproportionately impacts those who rely on nighttime availability due to their work schedules, family obligations, or other personal circumstances beyond their control.
It is important to remember that academic libraries, including Ellis, are essential to student success and retention, as our Student Government had successfully made the case in recent past.
Please sign this petition as we urge the Provost of Ellis Library and Chancellor Mun Choi to help keep Ellis Library open and accessible for all students throughout the long nights ahead.
