The Issue

On January 6, 2026, in Longs, South Carolina, our lives were forever altered by a heinous act that took away a beloved family member, Paul Greenwood. Paul was an integral part of our lives, and his absence is felt deeply every single day.

Paul was a dedicated and loving father to three beautiful daughters, who were the center of his world. He was also a devoted son and brother, deeply cherished by his family, who now grieve his loss daily. The void left by his untimely death is immeasurable, and no words can fully capture the pain we continue to endure.

Elijaih Thurman Taylor has been arrested in connection with the murder of Paul Greenwood and is currently awaiting a bond hearing. We strongly urge the court to deny bond in this case. Given the severity of the charges, the circumstances surrounding this crime, and the irreversible harm caused, releasing him would pose a serious concern for the safety of the community and add further distress to a grieving family.

Granting bond in a case of this magnitude would undermine the seriousness of the offense and could erode the sense of justice and security that Paul’s loved ones deserve during this difficult time.

We respectfully ask the court to consider the impact of this loss on Paul’s family, especially his three daughters and to ensure that justice begins with keeping the accused in custody as the legal process moves forward.

As a community, we stand together to send a clear message that acts of violence like this will not be taken lightly, and that accountability must begin at every stage of the judicial process.

Please join us in urging the court to deny bond for Elijaih Thurman Taylor so that justice for Paul Greenwood and his family is upheld.

Sign this petition to stand with us in demanding justice, accountability, and protection for our community.
