Hello Everyone:
Please join us between 10 am and 11:30 am this Saturday, March 18 on the sidewalk on Brom Drive in from of EHFC parking lot. If you like, bring a sign! We will answer as many questions as we can about our position that the EHFC remain open indefinitely. The more people that show up, the more we can drive home the extreme dissatisfaction that the abrupt closure of EHFC has wrought.
Management/Community Engagement Update
The south-region president of Edward-Elmhurst-Northshore will be meeting with me and a members of communities affected by the abrupt closure of the Edward Health and Fitness Center next week. At this meeting we will convey personal accounts of members whose lives will be profoundly impacted by the closure of EHFC and that the closure and the manner in which it was done contradicts the company's stated mission, values, as well as community cultural norms. The date was changed from this week due to scheduling conflicts.
In my last update, I enumerated the reasons why the Seven Bridges faciality is not an adequate substitute and for EHFC we will clarify our positions on this with management.
My last update incorrectly stated that Seven Bridges does not have a therapy pool, but that facility does. However, though it is larger, people tell me it is more crowded, and it will be more so when EHFC closes. Also, in the last update, I indicated that Naperville WAVES has dozens of members, but in fact it has hundreds!
Thank you for all you support. Please continue to share the petition and spread the word so we can get what we are seeking - having EHFC stay open!
Press on!
Steve
