Lee's Deli has successfully served this community with the SNAP program since 1971. The FoodShare program was created to stop hunger and improve nutrition in the community and for over 50years that is what Lee's Deli had done. Lee's Deli is located in an area that is beneficial to people in the community that do not have transportation to the nearest grocery store. Lee's Deli also supports and serves our homeless community at Halo which is half a mile away. Many of the people from Halo come to Lee's Deli to use their EBT because it is the closest place to get nutritional food. Lee's Deli has always stayed in compliance with the SNAP standards and over the years has reached out to the USDA to assure this. 

Due to a recent ownership change Lee's Deli has had to go through a reauthorization process for the SNAP program. Lee's Deli is still family owned and operated and the store is the same as it has always been. While this process is being done Lee's Deli is not able to process any EBT transactions. This has had a negative impact on this community. Customers come in and call everyday asking when they will be able to use their EBT again. The convenience of having a store near by has now been taken away, leaving so many who have been able to consistently get food from us at a loss.
