Keep Dr. Bernard Harris Sr. Elm School #250 Open!

Keep Dr. Bernard Harris Sr. Elm School #250 Open!
The Issue
The Baltimore City Public School System (BCPSS), CEO Dr. Sonja Santelises has recently recommended Dr. Bernard Harris Sr. Elementary School (#250) for potential closure. The proposed closure will go before the Baltimore City Board of School Commissioners ("The School Board") for final consideration on January 11, 2022.
We need your help to stop the Board from closing our school! We are calling on parents, families, students, alumni, and community members to help us keep Dr. Bernard Harris Sr. Elementary School #250 open. By signing on to this petition and sharing it with others you can help us #Save250. Every signature gets us closer to showing the School Board and BCPSS Administration that there is strong community of supporters behind Dr. Bernard Harris Sr. Elementary School.
Dr. Bernard Harris has long served as strong support system for elementary aged children and their families. It is conveniently located in the Oliver Community of East Baltimore. Families who live in that neighborhood have long looked forward to sending their children to a school that is located just a few short blocks (or less) from their home. The school's presence ensures the families and parents of the community that their children will have a safe and short commute as they pursue the quality education they deserve.
Moreover, the staff, teachers, and administration of Dr. Bernard Harris have always been trusted, reliable, and caring professionals invested in our youth's future. Some of the school's team are also members of the community who go above and beyond to make sure that every child unlocks their full potential.
Please Join our fight to today by signing this petition and sharing it across social media platforms. With your help we can have the recommendation to close Dr. Bernard Harris Sr. Elementary School removed from the Board's chopping block this January!
