The Issue

Danica Bleess-Winter has been a pivotal figure within our community at SouthWest Metro. Her presence is more than just beneficial; it's transformative. Danica is an inspiring leader whose ingenious art project ideas have kindled the artistic spirits of both students and teachers alike. Her approach is gentle and kind, guiding everyone she interacts with in the right direction with positive reinforcement and creativity.

The proposal to transition Danica away from our community would be a significant loss to every student and teacher she has inspired. Instead, we believe the best course of action is to keep Danica within our community and relocate her alongside the other teachers and students who are moving to the Dean Lakes site.

This move is crucial not only to maintain the continuity of relationships but also to ensure that Danica can continue to foster and nurture the spirit of creativity she so expertly cultivates.

Danica's role is irreplaceable. Her departure would mean more than just an empty classroom; it would signify the loss of an irreplaceable leader and mentor whose influence extends beyond academics into personal growth and enhanced community spirit. Keeping her as part of the ALC community by moving her to Dean Lakes aligns with both our educational goals and community values.

Please join us in preserving the integrity and spirit of our school by signing this petition. Together, we can ensure that Danica continues to be a beacon of inspiration and creativity within the ALC community.

I would also like to add that if you are a parent of a student at the ALC, I would highly encourage you to reach out to the district administrators and express your thoughts on Danica’s separation from us. Words from parents go an EXTREMELY long way when it comes to education.
