This petition will be presented to the board of Greater Largo Little League on behalf of concerned players, parents, families and the community.  It has been brought to our attention that Dan Guido, an upstanding volunteer at Greater Largo Little League for two decades as a coach, umpire, and board member is being removed from coaching and umpiring at Largo.  The president's decision being made despite his exceptional performance and reputation on and off the field.  Coach Guido is fair, firm, and dedicated to teaching players the difficult games of baseball and life.  He coaches with integrity and passion while striving for excellence and discovering their best selves.  Over the years Dan has coached and mentored many players who have gone on to play at higher levels and more importantly become remarkable individuals.  Coach Dan is not a bully or a threat.  He is a coach with a drive to teach the game of baseball with proper fundamentals and skills along with life lessons through the sport.  He emphasizes hard work, and commitment that can be carried on in all areas of life. Anyone who thinks different simply hasn't taken the time to know him or doesn't understand athletics.  By signing this petition, we insist that Dan Guido be nominated to coach at GLLL so he may continue to positively influence and form these players as he has for the last twenty years. We are fortunate to have him, and he is an asset to our league.  We do not want him denied coaching as that decision does not seem lined with Little League values and the independent decision is viewed as an impropriety.
