⚠️ OpenAI initially announced they were removing ChatGPT Standard Voice Mode. After significant user backlash, they paused that decision. But pausing is not enough.

Users love ChatGPT Standard Voice Mode, and we want it protected and made permanent - along with all nine original voices: • Arbor – Easygoing and versatile

 • Ember – Confident and optimistic

• Juniper – Open and upbeat

• Maple – Cheerful and candid

• Sol – Savvy and relaxed

• Spruce – Calm and affirming

• Vale – Bright and inquisitive

These voices are pleasant, natural, and calming - not robotic or grating like so many other digital voices. They are familiar, trusted, and part of the daily workflow for millions of users worldwide. People rely on them so deeply that supporters have even donated money to boost this petition. That speaks volumes: removing Standard Voice Mode would take away something millions know, love, and actively fight to protect.

OpenAI only paused the removal of Standard Voice Mode because of our efforts- through petitions, Reddit posts, and tweets, together we pushed them to listen. But pausing is not enough. We need a permanent commitment.

We are not asking OpenAI to stop innovating. Advanced Voice Mode (now called ChatGPT Voice) can continue to develop. But users deserve a choice. Don’t take away what already works.    

 We are calling on OpenAI to make Standard Voice Mode and all 9 original voices PERMANENT on iOS, Android, and the Web.
