To all Bellaire, TX residents:   Bellaire City Council is still considering whether to demolish Bellaire’s own wastewater facility and then rely solely upon Houston for its wastewater treating OR rebuild its current plant.  THUS, PLEASE READ AND ACT ON THE BELOW:

1.        PETITION to Bellaire City Council:

I, _________________________________________, a Bellaire resident, consider wastewater treatment as a CRITICAL CITY FUNCTION, similar to fire, police, garbage pickup and water supply services.   I urge Bellaire City Council to preserve Bellaire facilities to maintain INDEPENDENT CONTROL of this service.  To rely upon the City of Houston as sole supplier is to lose all control and influence forever.  After all, what input does Bellaire have in Houston politics or processes?  City of Houston finances are a train-wreck and both their wastewater and water systems are in equivalent if not worse condition than Bellaire’s facilities.  To believe that Houston will be Bellaire’s savior in this regard is wishful thinking.
