The Issue

Palm Beach County families deserve access to at least one Walmart Supercenter that is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Emergencies do not follow a schedule. In the middle of the night, a parent may suddenly need diapers, baby formula, children’s medicine or a thermometer. A caregiver may urgently need supplies for an elderly or disabled loved one. Families may run out of food, bottled water, hygiene products, first-aid supplies or batteries when nearly every other store is closed.

Palm Beach County is also home to healthcare workers, first responders, hospitality employees, caregivers, transportation workers and countless others who work overnight or nontraditional hours. These residents should not have to wait until morning to purchase essential items.

We are not asking every Walmart in Palm Beach County to operate 24 hours. We are asking Walmart to select at least one centrally located Supercenter to remain open around the clock, giving the community a dependable place to turn when urgent needs arise.

We understand that overnight operations require additional staffing, security and resources. Walmart could begin with a trial 24-hour program at one Palm Beach County location and evaluate customer demand, safety and operating costs.

One 24-hour Walmart could make a meaningful difference for families, caregivers, workers and anyone facing an unexpected need after regular business hours. No one should be left without access to basic necessities simply because it is late at night.

Please stand with Palm Beach County residents. Sign and share this petition, and urge Walmart to open at least one 24-hour Supercenter in Palm Beach County.
