Keep Aleesha Bradick at Ellet High School
The Issue
Aleesha Bradick, the Assistant Principal at Ellet High School Freshman Academy, has been an invaluable leader and incredible asset for students. Her leadership style, which combines discipline with understanding and empathy, has greatly improved the atmosphere and culture at Ellet. Students and staff alike, have found her approach to be both respectful and transformative. Her departure from Ellet to East High School would be a significant loss to our school community, which is why it is critical that her reassignment be rescinded.
Ellet High School is already facing a significant challenge with the restaffing of two of its other four Assistant Principals this year. Aleesha Bradick's reassignment would mark the third personnel change in Assistant Principals for the year and would be the 4th AP change for the Freshman Academy in just eight years. Frequent changes in leadership roles create instability within our school's administration and adversely affect the continuity and implementation of educational programs. The morale of the Freshman Academy teachers is strained with each major change. It puts a strain on the remaining team members, hampers long-term projects, and disrupts the learning environment that schools like Ellet strive to foster.
Aleesha has facilitated positive changes since she joined Ellet that have benefited our students, providing them with a more structured and supportive environment. Her commitment and dedication to this school are unquestionable, and her absence would create a void that could deeply impact our student's education and morale.
Education thrives in environments where there is stable, competent, and caring leadership. Transferring such an influential figure who has far-reaching positive effects on both the school culture and student success is counterproductive. Her work to improve the PBIS system was very successful this year- improving the climate and positive culture of the building for staff and students. She also ran the high stakes testing as building Testing Coordinator. She was also pivotal in adding fundraising opportunities for the building but especially Freshman Academy. Aleesha Bradick's continued presence at Ellet is essential to maintaining the forward momentum and positive influences she has cultivated.
We ask the Akron Public School District to consider the detrimental effects of this reassignment and choose to keep Aleesha Bradick at Ellet. Join us in signing this petition to ensure our voices are heard and Aleesha Bradick remains where she is most impactful—at Ellet High School.
