The Albury Swim Centre plays a crucial role in our community, providing a space for physical activity, social interaction, and overall well-being. As the winter months approach, it's imperative that we advocate for the facility to continue to remain open during the winter months. 

The increased demand for swimming year round has seen access to  private indoor facilities,  become no longer an option.With no Regional Aquatic facility either, this makes Albury Swim Centre essential, not just during the summer, but critical throughout the entire year.

Swimming is a low-impact exercise beneficial for individuals of all ages, particularly helpful for those with joint problems, the elderly, and those undergoing physical rehabilitation. For many, it's a necessary component of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, supporting both physical and mental health.

Keeping the swim centre open during winter would also benefit local swimming clubs, water polo clubs, and triathlon clubs who rely on the facility for training and competitions. The closure would disrupt their schedules and potentially hinder the development of young swimmers who aspire to compete at higher levels.

To make this happen, we need the Albury City Council to recognize the swim centre's significance and prioritize its accessibility during the winter months. By doing so, they would be encouraging a healthier, more active community, supporting local sports development, and fostering economic growth.
