End the Taiji Dolphin Slaughter

The Issue

Each year, Taiji has an annual dolphin slaughter that goes through September to April. Everyday, hundreds of dolphins are rounded up, dolphin trainers select the best ones for captivity, and the ones not selected are killed in extremely inhumane ways. The Japanese government is trying to cover this issue up, explaining that this has been a long tradition in Japan, and that they have improved their killing methods, but this is not true in the slightest.  The dolphins slaughtered are used for dolphin meat, which in fact has high amounts of mercury due to the pollutants in the water.  The film, "The Cove" exposed the world to the truths of Taiji.  Stand with me now and let us put an end to this horrific practice and save the lives of one of the world's most beautiful and intelligent mammals.  This is not just our planet, it is there's too.
