This Is Kavic. He was once my uncles fur baby and my little cousin’s best friend. Unfortunately, he was also an escape artist, as most huskys are! They made the difficult decision to rehome him to a close family friend whom the trusted. Richard and Denise Sikes took Kavic in and promised to take good care of him. 

Fast forward to 2022. A post is shared on Facebook showing a broken, beaten, defeated Kavic. It was discovered that Kavic had been beaten by Richard and Denise. They told my uncle that they had to put him down due to cancer and that it devastated them to do so. Rick even said he was so upset over it he went to the ER the next night thinking he was having a heart attack! It was later discovered they had DUMPED him in council bluffs. 

Kavic was rescued by Stray Rescue of St. Louis, along with multiple other dogs that were also neglected and injured; another husky and two chihuahuas. 

Denise and Rich deserve to be held accountable for their actions. They were arrested but as of this morning (8/3/22), everyone arrested has been released.

No animal deserves to be neglected and left to die. Kavic’s family trusted them with their fur baby and never dreamt he would be treated like he was. Help us make sure they get prosecuted to the max! Allow me remind you that animal abuse is a FEDERAL FELONY thanks to President Trump.
