Remove Frank Laplante's Hunting Licence and Gun Permit

On November 8th 2017, hunter Frank Laplante entered the property of Matt Nooyen and Lianne Guilbeault near Ottawa Ontario. He did not have permission to be there. He and another hunter then shot companion animals Pickles and Rosie, point blank, while they were in their enclosures. When Mr. Nooyen asked the hunters what happened, he was told "they ran off." After searching for hours, the hunters finally admitted to shooting them and removing their bodies to his home. If Pickles and Rosie were dogs, charges would likely have been filed. As it is, Pickles and Rosie were pet potbellied pigs so police have closed the case and MNR is looking into whether Laplante and the other hunter should lose their hunting licence and gun permit because, according to an MNR spokesperson, "If they didn't know what they were shooting at, they should not have been shooting.' Because all a hunter has to say in this case is, "I thought they were wild boar." He said it didn't occur to him that they might not be wild boar, even when they were in their own enclosures, even though the pigs came right up to him in curiosity. On behalf of all of those with companion animals, particularly pigs, please remove this man's hunting licence and gun permit for killing companion animals, lying about it and shooting on private property in close proximity to a home.
