In a complete 180, David Shannon, the executive director of HAGI, is moving for Wilderness Discovery's CLOSURE. With Lisa Laco on "Superior Morning" on CBC Radio, David Shannon said that closing Wilderness Discovery "would be a true tragedy for, not just the disability community, but everyone in northwest Ontario". AND NOW? "From our perspective, there is no question that (given) the current state of affairs, we cannot operate there." Since YOUR petition was started two months ago, DAVID SHANNON has been silent. Board members I contacted said that he was the designated spokesperson on this matter. AND HE SAID NOTHING! If this had not started, it's doubtful you would have EVER known! It's now apparent that YOUR VOICES as supporters of YOUR AREA'S disability non-profit DON'T MATTER. Who knew the conflict wasn't just with the GOVERNMENT, BUT HAGI ITSELF?! Is Wilderness Discovery going to be lost like HAGI's running of the transit service? Perhaps it is time to end HAGI's mismanagement and move for David Shannon's DEPARTURE. He'll be much easier to REPLACE than WILDERNESS DISCOVERY. It's time to GET LOUD. KEEP SIGNING! KEEP SHARING! But now, IT'S TIME TO PICKET HAGI !!! IT"S TIME FOR WILDERNESS DISCOVERY TO STAY... AND DAVID SHANNON TO GO!!!
