A little over two months ago, I sent a letter to the Thunder Bay Chronicle-Journal. I felt I had to inform residents of the area that Wilderness Discovery could close. Since I could count the people I knew in Canada on one hand of a careless butcher, I knew this wouldn't be easy...and it isn't. Still, I reached out a great number of Canadian neighbors who didn't have a clue who I was. But, because we believed in each other and what we're fighting for, piece by piece, person by person, this isn't just a cause. We're a FORCE FOR GOOD! Rest assured, this movement has not yet peaked. The more we show how much we care and share our sincerity, the more we'll be noticed and the more we'll be heard. If you read the comments on the petition site, and you should, our passion is obvious. One thing that's becoming apparent. Many of you were unaware of the camp's existence. Now, that you're finding out about this, people with disabilities, their friends, and families want to experience Wilderness Discovery. STEP ONE: LET'S SAVE THIS PLACE! STEP TWO: Let's work on creating other Wilderness Discovery facilities across this continent. In Ontario alone, there are over a quarter million lakes to work with. But if we don't show the government how serious we are about Step One, there is no Step Two. So, we all need to STEP UP! Keep sharing this petition. Keep after your government officials.
