Save Wilderness Discovery Resort For The Disabled led last night's THUNDER BAY Evening News AND makes CTV NEWS NATIONALLY!!! _____________________________________________________________ Click on the YouTube link to watch petition supporters TRACY HURLBERT & ANDREW TIMS explain why this camp IS SO VITAL! https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=115&v=96uB5_uQMyo KEEP SIGNING and SHARING THIS PETITION, RIGHT AWAY. IT'S NEVER BEEN MORE CRUCIAL!!! www.change.org/WildernessDiscovery In the CTV News piece by Emily Chan, HAGI Executive Director David Shannon said. "(But) from our perspective, there is no question that (given) the current state of affairs, we cannot operate there." Evelyn Charters of Maple, Ontario commented: I'm so sorry to see this unexpected outcome...it's demoralizing. You did such a wonderful job launching the petition, Kevin. What now, everyone? This was my reply: In my opinion, Evelyn, the buck stops at the top with David Shannon. If he is unable to maintain the resort, it's his failure. It was baseball's opening day. I'm a Twins fan and they lost 90+ games the last four seasons. Nobody closed THE BALLPARK. Nobody blamed empty seats on the USHERS. The MANAGER WAS FIRED! Hall-Of-Famer, and BLUE JAYS World Champion PAUL MOLITOR was hired. But despite his resume, if he doesn't win and attendance goes down, he'll be fired, too. Wilderness Discovery is serving the disability community in its fourth decade. Its place in the community is much more important than David Shannon. He needs to allow someone that can devote the proper attention and management skill to the needs of the organization. HE HADN'T signed, NOR supported the petition. In fact, he has IGNORED it. He's been unable to tap the support of over 20,000 Canadian petitioners. If you have a packed church on Easter Sunday and you don't produce an offering plate, all the prayers you can muster WON'T save your church. He didn't even have to do any of the work to rally the support and he STILL couldn't pull it off. His management of Wilderness Discovery can only be described as a COLOSSAL FAILURE. The lack of results are glaringly obvious. Wilderness Discovery should stay. David Shannon should go and the government should perform an audit to see how the funding has been managed.
