Petition updateMake George Lucas's Star Wars Sequel TrilogyEverybody is Signing the Wrong Star Wars Petition...

Well, the good news is that we now have more signatures than Bob Jones’s petition to change the title “Star Wars” to “Awesome Fluffy Space Time”. The bad news is that we have approximately 96,700 fewer signatures than Henry Walsh’s petition to “Have Disney strike Star Wars Episode VIII from the official canon”. Anyone with an ounce of common sense would know that even if Walsh’s petition garners another 10,000,000 signatures, Disney is never going to remake Episode VIII, yet the petition continues to get hundreds of signatures a day… Let’s imagine that Walsh’s petition were to be successful, and Disney actually did strike Episode VIII from the canon… Who would decide what replaces it…? The very same people who put their seal of approval on The Last Jedi in the first place. Would that be a good thing? Is that what fans really want? It’s not as though they’re going to let the fans vote on what ought to happen in the story… I understand that a lot of fans don’t like the direction Disney has taken the Saga, and they want an alternative – I feel the same. The point I’m trying to make is that there is no alternative – EXCEPT FOR GEORGE LUCAS’S VERSION OF THE SEQUEL TRILOGY. Those tens of thousands who’ve signed Walsh’s petition should really be signing the petition I started, because it has a goal that’s actually achievable, and it’s the only way they can get what they want. It’s disheartening that other petitions, ranging from the utterly pointless to the absolutely ludicrous (e.g. Cemiria Dawn’s “Rian Johnson has to admit that The Last Jedi is awful” 7,465 supporters – Jake Limpert’s “Force Disney to sell Star Wars back to George Lucas after they finish episode 9” 5,398 supporters), have been far more successful than mine. I wonder if I changed the title of my petition to something like “KILL RIAN JOHNSON TO DEATH” it would make more sense to people… I’ve asked people I know to sign my petition … I’ve tried advertising and promoting it … and I’ve spent the money I could afford to spend. I’m not sure what else I can do. So, it’s up to you, now… Again, I ask anyone who’s signed this petition to get at least one other person to sign it, and ask that person to get at least one other person to sign it … and so on… Unless someone’s got a better suggestion, it’s the only way I can see this working. Thanks for your kind attention.
