At a meeting of Port Phillip Council on 15 November 2017 the councillors approved a plan that states in para 3.12 "...we plan to remove the physical collection of books from Middle Park..."

There has been no consultation with the local community about the removal of the books.

The council plan to remove the books , close the library and "refocus it as a creative and collaborative working space" at a cost of tens of thousands of dollars to local ratepayers. 

Families will lose a wonderful space within easy walking distance of their homes where they and their children can browse and choose books.
