Investigate Cibola County Sheriff's Department & Hold Them Accountable

Investigate Cibola County Sheriff's Department & Hold Them Accountable
The Issue
Today we are asking you to sign this petition in support of our request to have the Cibola County Sheriff's Department Sheriff, Undersheriff and ENTIRE department investigated for ongoing police misconduct, molestation, abuse of power, harassment, retaliation, coercion, stalking. Please stand with us to publically compel The New Mexico Attorney General's Office to take these and other community complaints seriously and hold any and all law enforcement accountable for their crimes and actions against the community.
The Mooney Family in Fence Lake, NM has been experiencing ongoing harassment by a group of white southerners who call themselves "The Mujeres Militia" in Cibola County, New Mexico since they purchased their property an hour away from the City of Grants. In January 2018, Cibola County Sheriff's Department, led by Undersheriff Michael Munk, attempted to search their property without a warrant as a result of this group filing over 100 fake Crimestoppers reports. Detective Wadford and Undersheriff Munk, plus around 8 other officers, including a K-9 unit (Officer Kemp) and claimed to be there to "introduce themselves to the community" when we discovered them blocking our only exit out of the subdivision and they claimed to be "stuck" in less than an inch of snow and frozen mud. The interaction quickly escalated to Undersheriff Munk cussing and swearing at the Mooney's when the Mooney's declined the unlawful search of their "campground property" specifically. The majority of this interaction, including the cussing and unprofessionalism of Undersheriff Munk was recorded.
For over a year the Mooney family has contacted the FBI, State Patrol, NAACP, ACLU, Southern Poverty Law Center, KRQE, and a number of other state, government and private organizations inquiring about who is responsible for taking complaints regarding police misconduct, coercion, harassment, retaliation, stalking and molestation and have not been able to get an answer until March 20, 2019. After the incident of harassment and attempted assault against Daniel Mooney by Undersheriff Michael Munk, Sgt. Jenkins from the Gallup/Grants Division returned their 911 call and refused to take an incident report. Cristina Mooney advised Sgt. Jenkins that the call was being recorded and when she asked for clarification of his denial to take an incident report Sgt. Jenkins reluctantly agreed to take a report but only if the Mooney's went to his office at the Grants Sheriff's Office the following day so he could "make a copy of the video you supposedly have". This was after he told Cristina Mooney that he is not able to start an investigation against Sheriff Tony Mace, Undersheriff Michael Munk and the Cibola County Sheriff's Department because the person to report police misconduct to is Cibola County Manager, Kate Flecher.
UPDATE: We now have proof that Sgt. Jenkins of New Mexico State Patrol lied to Cristina Mooney when he directed her to Ms. Kate Fletcher, Cibola County Manager. Yet another form of police misconduct and lack of government transparency when it comes to holding corrupt and criminal law officers accountable for their crimes and misconduct.
