CAMPAIGN UPDATE! University backtrack on monkey imports?!

Animal Justice Project and Djurrättsalliansen
8 Dec 2015
Karolinska Institutet have issued a statement on the monkeys who were imported on 13th November. It is possible that pressure from almost 25,000 people (including yourself, so thank you!) may have led them to this (link: bit.ly/1TV1JRM): "The animal experiment documents covers the use of 120 monkeys, but in the currently planned research not more than 24 monkeys will be used" "Det djurförsöksetiska tillståndet täcker användande av 120 apor, men i den nu planerade forskningen kommer inte fler än 24 apor att användas" (Swedish) This is an important statement, which went up on their website only a couple of days ago, as the university planned originally to use 120 monkeys in this research. Now, researchers appear to have backtracked. Whilst this is great news, it is VITAL we keep up pressure on the university and demand they not import the remaining 96 monkeys to the laboratory. Remember, they can import the remaining monkeys at any time! We also demand they re-home the 24 monkeys who arrived on 13th November, and end, forever, this futile research. Contrary to reports that the monkeys arrived from monkey dealer, Hartelust, the university is also claiming the monkeys arrived from the United States, via Frankfurt, Germany. Your VOICE is WORKING!
