Saalumarada Thimmakka led her life planting trees to benefit people, to give shade. Without realizing she has contributed to the benefit of environment. Her selfless act is an inspiration to all those love this earth.

The lines of trees which she planted for 6 decades are getting into ruins, because of the neglect of Karnataka forest department. People have cut some of these trees. According to Vijayavani report of 5th January 2020 these trees are misused, chopped and sometime burnt alive. 80 banyan trees are cutdown due to negligence of Forest department.

The symbol which inspires millions of environmentalists must be cared, kept alive. Our future lies on stories and sacrifices like Salumarada Thimmakka’s story. We need heroes to save this earth for our descendants. If we don’t take right step now , our future generations will consider our generation as evil and selfish. 

Sign the petition to urge Government of Karnataka to consider those 400 Banyan trees of Saalumarada Thimmakka as a monument to  reforestation.
